Mandarin House Moves the Head Office

On Monday the 25th November, Mandarin House head office moved into a new space on the 21st floor of the Asia Mansion building. Our head office was previously located on the 12th floor of the same building on the same level as our Shanghai People’s Square learning centre. It was decided that due to the rapidly growing nature of our business, moving the head office to a different location would enable a sustained expansion of our teaching capability.

The location, in the centre of Shanghai, is convenient and easy to access. It is well served by several subway lines and bus routes, making it easy for all of our staff to get to. Being on the 21st floor of the building means great views of the city and new facilities like two dedicated meeting rooms, an eating area and a coffee bar provide our staff with the best possible work environment.

The design of the head office incorporates both traditional Chinese and Western elements. The aim was to create a working space that was both relaxing and efficient for our employees. An open, office layout was chosen to enable collaboration between departments and encourage creativity amongst our staff. Traditional Chinese style dividers were added to create a unique office layout. The large windows ensure ample sunlight and contribute to the overall fengshui.

As studying Mandarin as a second language continues to increase in popularity, Mandarin House, as the leading provider of Mandarin training, continues to need more space to expand our teaching capacity. By moving our head office to a separate floor from one of our centres we have given ourselves the space to rethink the design of one of our most popular learning centres. Although no designs have yet been finalized for our centre on the 12th floor, we will certainly be looking at ways to use the available space in a way that ensures our students have the best possible learning experience.
