Mandarin House’s 10th Anniversary Logo
In 2004 Mandarin House established our first Mandarin Chinese training school in Shanghai. The school was established out of a desire to increase the learning efficacy of Mandarin teaching by creating a more flexible approach to Mandarin courses and by adopting more western style language learning methods. As a pioneer in private language training we are pleased to announce that 2014 will be our 10th year helping Mandarin students to master the language.
To celebrate the year and to start off the festivities we wanted to create a 10th Anniversary logo that would be used on our promotional materials in 2014. Our designer Steven Shen, was given the task to create a logo that included design elements that were distinctively Chinese in nature but that would also appeal to our international student base.
With this lofty design brief in mind Steven came up with several logo designs. See some examples of his below. We were very pleased with all of the designs but choosing one over another proved difficult. It was therefore decided that our staff should vote on which logo they preferred, and the result of that vote would determine our choice.
Over 50 Mandarin House employees took part in the vote and I’m pleased to announce that after two weeks of voting the logo that was chosen was logo number 2 (see below). Our staff commented positively on the originality and creativity involved in combining a dragon with Arabic numerals.
Keep your eyes open. Over the next few weeks and months you will begin seeing Mandarin House’s, 10th Anniversary logo on our website and in other materials.
