All the songs are about love, all the movies are about love and all the TV shows are about love. Recently there have been a number of hit TV shows that try '相亲' in an attempt to get a single boy and girl to fall in love with each other. Some of these shows even go so far as to match up young men with potential mother-in-laws!
So to understand Chinese culture better it is vital that you learn some vocabulary, just in case some famous Chinese TV personality tries setting you up with an old Chinese 太太!

玛丽: 汤姆,听说你有女朋友了。
Mǎ Lì: Tāng Mǔ, tīngshuō nǐ yǒu nǚ péngyou le.
Mary: Tom, I heard you have a girlfriend now.
汤姆: 对, 我和我的女朋友是一见钟情。
Tāng Mǔ: Duì, Wǒ hé wǒ de nǚ péngyou shì yī jiàn zhōngqíng.
Tom: Right, we fell in love at first sight.
