Activities During Dragon Boat Festival
▪ Racing Boat
Because of the shape of the boat, looks like a dragon, with a dragon head and tail, so it is called dragon boat. A team of people works the oars in a bid to reach the destination before the other teams. One team member sits at the front of the boat beating a drum in order to maintain morale and ensure that the rowers keep in time with one another. It is said that the winning team will bring harvest and happy life to the people of their village.
▪ Eating Zongzi
The food ate during this period is called “Zongzi”, which is made of rice and Chinese date with a sweet taste. With the development of life standard, other taste Zongzi appears in the market, for example, the salty taste and spicy taste. The material includes rice, meat, bean paste, raisin and peanut, etc.
